Their FAQ answers it directly: "Ulta Lab Tests offers testing services to residents of almost all states except the three where direct access testing is prohibited by law - New York, New Jersey and Rhode Island." Read 2026-08-07 in a browser — the answer sits inside a collapsed accordion that plain HTTP clients never see, which is why this stood as an unverified third-party claim until now.

Who it suits

Someone shopping a very large Quest-network catalogue who will read what is in a panel rather than trust its name. The range is the draw — 2,000+ tests, 400+ panels, with thyroid coverage at the top end that little else here matches — and the pricing is the catch, since the sticker is not the total. No physician visit is needed: "You do not need to see a physician to get a lab test, through Ulta Lab Tests."

How ordering works

Order online, then "Get your blood drawn at one of our 2,500 approved patient service centers nationally", taking your requisition with you and fasting if the test calls for it. "All specimens are analyzed at National CLIA certified laboratories." Results are quick for routine work — "typically available 1-3 business days after a blood draw has been completed" — but "Occasionally, complex test results can take between 7-10 business days." An out-of-range result is not necessarily followed up, though the serious cases are: Ulta says it will alert you "should our national laboratory identify that your results are abnormal with a critical or panic value requiring immediate medical care."

What to watch for

The draw is not included, which is unusual among the in-lab vendors here: "Yes, there is a fee associated with collecting your specimen. The standard draw fee is $12.95 but may vary depending on where you choose to have your specimen collected... The draw fee will be added to your cart at check out." On a $22.95 lipid panel that is more than half again. Refunds narrow in stages — full refund or credit inside 60 days, "Account credit only" from 61 days to 18 months, nothing after 18 months, and "Once a specimen has been collected, the order is final and is not eligible for refund or credit." Any Test Kit Logistics Fee is non-refundable throughout. And three states cannot buy at all: "Ulta Lab Tests offers testing services to residents of almost all states except the three where direct access testing is prohibited by law - New York, New Jersey and Rhode Island."
